The XT Series are Clark's "HIGH POWER" telescopic masts with the capability of lifting 150 kilograms (special versions to 300 Kg can be supplied) to 10 metres or 36 kg to 18 metres. As a member of Clark's Phase 2 series, they also have the rigidity which has become increasingly necessary for today's equipment. Electronic News Gathering, Line of Sight Links, small Radars, surveillance equipment of all kinds, these are the applications in which XT masts perform best. The 203 mm (8 inch) base section diameter makes the mast too large to set up manually. In almost all cases they are built into or onto vehicles or shelters in the vertical position. The top of each mast is provided with a substantial flange for the attachment of large headloads. Each section top may be fitted with locking (combined) collars for semi-perminant installation if desired where the mast can remain extended without an air supply. For minimum retracted height the Plain Collar version may be ordered.

When the XT mast is fully extended a locking key system gives high tortional strength. To increase the stability of headloads with large wind area in high wind conditions, Guys may be attached. However the real advantage of the XT masts are their unguyed stability for work in average conditions. A range of mounting, guying and air Accessories are available for the XT Series masts.

All of these qualities give the XT series equal suitability for use in civilian and military applications, as evidenced by its choice for the advanced Verdi-2 Military Reconnaissance vehicle shown above. Clark's 804 Heavy Duty Trailer Mast Series also use XT masts.
